they told me that they will only bill 1.95..but they charged me with 2.95 plus 46.07..how to get my money back?
that is our lesson in not knowing how to use our computer. go to google copy and paste the web site and let google do the math. regards

Do not give them money, they will overcharge you.
Okay I got taken too. I had no idea there would be a monthly charge. Who reads terms and conditions anyway? I didn't. My bad... but no excuse for those rip-off artists. They are guilty of false advertising and this website clearly shows they are con artists. I have disputed the $67.00 Cdn amount charged with my credit card company... and will continue to bad mouth them anytime anywhere I can. Good luck to everyone getting full refund. DEMAND IT. Keep up the pressure. What have got to lose?
Why does Yahoo and other search engines allow them to advertise with them?

Also Taken for $1.95
Yes this is another life lesson that sucks!!!I will be talking to my lawyer about this and also the bbb. Good luck everyone I will post results when I find them. Also notice there are google adds on this very page promoting this garbage!!!
If anyone figures this out before me My e-mail is jolie-bergen@hotmail.com
i to thought i would try for this offer, but rather than give them my cc number,i went and got one of those mastercard gift cards,so no charges that i did not authorise would not end up on my credit card, and after reading all these complaints,im glad i did it that way. all they could take was 2.25
I got taken too for $1.95 and then got desparate and tried again after the time ran out not realizing about the $57.00 recurring monthly charges. Then I started reading about the scams and could not beleive it. Why do reputable search engines allow these fraudulent scams to continue? The scam artists are preying on desparate people who are looking for help. Thanks for the eye opener.
Thanks everyone for saving me from the pain! Thank you to consumer blogs!
I stumbled onto this scam site through isohunt.com. I'm actually pretty disapointed that they would let that add be on there site. It makes for an irony. The ones stealing from isohunt are stolen from by grantsmoney. I was not fooled as 4 key elements of a scam were present.
1) I was important
2) There was a very large lump sum of money
3) There was a limited amount of time to act
4) There was little cost to me
Any scam you encounter has these ingredients, be weary.
whenever any advertising make you feel individual, special, being treated better than others, a red light should go off. Remember you are just another sheep in the pasture
Yes, I got caught as well. I was on a dictionary website (of all places in the cyberspace!) and there it was - the lucky thread to hang on to...
I immediately tried to go on line with my username-n-all, no result. A tiny voice on the support phone line assured me that the website is working and I should try again.
Needless to say my next phone call was to my trusted credit card people. They advsied me to wait until the first transaction is posted and report that I did not get the service I was promised; they will investigate the company charging me, and thereby any further charges will be declined...
Hopefully it works...
like all things ,ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS research these kind of offers, i didn't get taken in this scam, i glad i did my research, do a chargeback on your credit card, thats all i can suggest
Ok yes I understand that there may be fine print. However, did anyone actually pay the service fees and continue with their program and actually recieve funding?
Je dois bloquer ma carte Visa toute de suite pour prevenir le fraud. :(
God is on top of us and he will get my refund sooner or later.
I didn't read the fine print...however, when I said I neither received anything either by mail or e-mail they said I would get a refund which I haven't received the total amount only partial amount. The customer service representatives tell me to e-mail refund@grantsmoney.com again. They have not responded! When I speck to them on the phone they are rushed and not helpful! I feel so deceived and such a fool! I only want to pass on the word these people are scam artists!
I too am a victim ! I was chg'd $1.95. That's what I signed up for---then my cc said 1.95, and the next day chg'd $57.61 ! I was totally surprised. Guess I too failed to read the small print. In the chat room they said they could offer $40. refund. I accepted that, but haven't yet completed my complaints. First I will contact my cc co to advise not to accept any chgs they may send again. Then after I receive the $40. I will begin working on getting the rest of the 57.61 back! How stupid I was. Never, ever will I sign up for anything again. I have been "taken for a fool" twice! So sorry we cannot trust anyone anymore, and to think this was on a GOOGLE website ! Unbelievable !Jackie
As of 8/20/09 I taken. They advertised $1.95 and charged my $57.00 within I think 24hrs! My account snow-balled and I was charged $35.00 4x. These bastards cost me over $200.00 I wish I had not!!!
It happened to me also,I was trying to find out what grants were available to me so I could go back to school,it look like it was from the government. I learned my lession and hope other people will be aware that the computer is great but.But it can be used by jerks I lost about 200.00 also.
I so wish I had found this site first!...
My story is the same as you all. I saw the add in July in the Google adds on the right side of my Facebook page. It seemed legit and like many I didn't read the fine prints... I hapilly paid the 1.95$...only to find myself being re-directed to the Canadian Gouverment site...which, of course, is FREE to begin with! When I realised the scam I back tracked and "screen printed" every step of the transaction, as proof in case I would get over charged. And yes, Ladies and Gentlemen, the MasterCard shows I have been billed an extra 57.61US$ for my trouble. GRRRRR!!!...
You better believe I will tell MasterCard to block the payement.
I am so sorry to see so many here have been fooled like I have... For each of us who have been made aware the hard way, how many out there, this very minute, are getting scamed just like we were?...
I just realized I was scammed by these jerks today. They offered to give me a $40 refund only. I refused and demanded the entire thing.
Do I smell a class action law-suit?
I bet this company has made millions of dollars over the years and I believe that money is rightfully ours.
Any lawyers want to step up and make some serious cash by filing a class action law suit against these scam artists?
Steve,
Aug 24 2009 I was taken for about $60.00,I changed my debt card #,if you do not there will be more charges. Yes, I smell class action law-suit.
You cannot sue them, they are protected by the agreement you guys agreed to.
Im curious though if anyone ever got a grant out of it?
Everyone scammed - don't take it lying down. here is what you can do:
1. Call your credit card company. Ask them to dispute the charge. Give your reasons.
2. They are NOT protected by any agreement you agree to since the spirit of the agreement was to perpetuate fraud. Take them to court and I bet 100% they will not show up to fight it. Go to small claims consumer court and you don't even need a lawyer.
Future: Always google even a site name before you try these offers. And in general, if it's too good to be true, it is a scam.
i so upset i can screem, the charged 57.61 out of my account an usely that would have put me in the negative, but thank GOD i had a few dollars that day. be careful, i will..
i feel like such an idiot for believing it, the "monthly charge" showed up so i called and remanded a refund, i did as they to email the conformation number. Will it really work for getting my refund?
my mother got scamed from these scam artists and she to only seen the 1.95 and never seen the other but she got charged 2.88 i work it out and that would be 1.95 plus tax and if u try it is 48% try it on a calculator 1.95 times 48% plus equals and its 2.88 and then on top of that 63.77 so were trying to get a refund see how that gos lol but i seen they were useing cnn cnbc and cbs logos on there site so me the ass i am i contacted cnn to see what they have to say havent heard from them yet but i just sent it like and hour ago but i will come back and update i hope cnn will look into it they could even sue them if there useing there logo to promote a scam if there not sponcers but i really dont think there sponcers or even knoe there name is not the site lol
these stupid people they can suck a coock..!!
I called 10 minutes after clicking on the scam and the rep insisted that I call the next day. She refused to cancel for me then. SCAM part 1.
Then they expect you to forget or do nothing about it. SCAM part 2.
I called and refered to refunds@grantsmoney.com and after threatening BBB and class action law suit, they gave me $40. SCAM part 3.
I did get the $40 refund. Called for the balance and they put me on hold for 10+ minutes each time I asked for a manager, I said, tell your manager that you have an irate, that is going to the BBB and talking about class action lawsuit. They put me on hold each time (I have handsfree, so just went about my business...) and no one would answer, and I'd hang up and get another one. I got some satisfaction out of pissing them off by explaining I can trace their extention through their isp (which I found on another site). I can't do that but these ppl don't know that. I could never work for a company that knowingly has a plan to scam ppl. Karma, what karma... these women have no souls.
